Hi! I hope you don't mind me writing directly to you, but I just want to say that I absolutely LOVED your story "Learning Curve". Unfortunately, it's not easy to find well-written fics here, but your style is great. Also, the way you describe even the tiniest nuances, like Maite's nervous tic with her hand, is just brilliant. So congrats! I'd love to read more of your stories, if you ever feel like posting something else. :)

ANYWAY. Onto slightly happier things. First things first, what did you think of the last Luimelia episode? I was honestly a little surprised that this one again featured very little actual Luimelia content. I actually really really liked the episode, I LOVED how they staged it, but definitely a little surprising. And my God, I love that family. I want to be adopted by them immediately. Of COURSE they staged a whole dinner to try to convince Maria to stay, lol.

And then there's Luisi....what are you doing, woman?? You have Amelia Freaking Ledesma, and you wouldn't want to marry her?? Get on your knees and ask immediately. Somehow I have a feeling that it's going to be her who asks Amelia to marry her in Season 3. But I don't think there's been any word on when that will come out, right?

Ugh, this indefinite waiting on the Maitino spinoff is TORTURE. But it seems that Veronica is writing something? She was asking for suggestions of romantic phrases anyway. I suppose it's a process like anything else, but I want it all. We deserve it all. Give us all the things.

Okay, so against my better judgement, I've started Maitino 2020. I've written a couple scenes, and was hoping you'd take a look and tell me what you think. I think what I'm going to do is kinda rewrite the story, but for modern times. The only trouble is, I'm not sure where I'll end it - and that makes me nervous because I usually know the end! Anyway, I'm going to believe you when you said you would take a peek, lol, and will send the scenes your way.

Meanwhile, Synii keeps posting ridiculously good drawings that also stir the imagination. I guess it's time to quit the ol' job and write fic full-time. Money's not THAT important, right?

And so another week is about to begin. Hope yours starts well!

Hey Ana!

Just got back from a girls' weekend with some friends. We rented a house for a couple days and visited some vineyards and did some wine tasting. Good to get out for a bit, and the weather was absolutely perfect.

So I had to laugh when I read your last note - In yet another way in which we're similar - my grandfather was a dentist! So weird. With all the docs in your family, did you ever consider medicine? Or just wasn't your thing? How long have your parents had their practice? Have they always worked together?

I'm sorry things are getting bad there again. We're not much better. We've started sending kids to school again, and I suspect it will be a disaster soon. I guess we'll really know in a few weeks or so. We are mostly on a hybrid plan here - in school some days and virtual on the other days. Is it similar there?

I truly wish the world could have come together on this one and come up with a cohesive plan to get this under control. It's a mess here as well - every state is sort of left to do what it wants, so different parts of our country are doing different things, and it's so very confusing. And of course, you then have to deal with the anti-maskers who apparently think it's their God-given right to infect others, as if wearing the mask is a personal affront to their freedoms. And on top of that, we have a lot of civil unrest here as tensions escalate between our Black citizens and police, and to really top it off, one of our truly wonderful and revolutionary Supreme Court Justices died and it's absolutely terrifying that Trump might get to replace her. This year can absolutely go to hell.

The good news is that apparently they’re running a lot more tests now (so it may be that the thousands new positives every day are also because of that) and monitoring/quarantining people a lot more closely too. But nobody really knows where we’re going from here… The saddest part, for sure, is the nursery homes that have not allowed visits for many months now, and the elderly are the most confused and scared and that breaks my heart.

Anyway, I hope you’re staying safe too in your area and hopefully learning a few things from our mistakes. Take care!
