Well, after just over 24 hours, the chapters of This Is The Fall that I have posted over on Royal Road have gotten almost 400 views…
          The platform isn’t as flashy…like, it’s harder to add photos to your story and whatnot, but the new writer discoverabilty is there for sure. 
          When people read your story, they can also suggest edits at a line level which is EXACTLY what I had been looking for.
          So far, the readers have been very kind and helpful as well.
          So, yeah, I think I’ll be sticking around there for a while. 
          I also plan to upload to Inkitt…from what I can tell, it appears to be easier to engage with your readers there. So, we’ll see! 
          Just wanted to let yall know in case you were thinking of trying another platform. ❤️
          
          

So…I’m testing the waters of other writing platforms to see if my stories are a better fit.  I’ve been struggling, trying to help my stories gain some traction here on Wattpad, but it just seems like the New Author Discoverability is completely broken here.  I’ve had 2 of my stories up since 2021…I have done revisions, deleted and re-uploaded, reached out, done R4R’s and submitted for critiques…everything that has been recommended, I have given a shot, and none of it has worked. 
          
          And for those years of work, none of my stories have even hit 1000 reads.  It’s just kind of disheartening…especially when the folks that actually do read my stories say that they’re well written…so I know that it isn’t the quality of my writing.  
          
          I think that it is most likely due to genre…most of my books aren’t romance and none are YA.  They cover adult themes and are slow burn, atmospheric and parts of some edge into horror.  They just aren’t what most readers here are looking for, I think.
          
          So, that being said, I’m contemplating jumping ship.  lol!  
          I have unpublished most chapters of my two longest books.  I did leave up The Deer and the Wolf because it’s a short story and just an excerpt from a full length novel that is in professional edits right now anyway.
          
          If things go well on these other platforms, I’ll keep you guys posted.  That way, if you’re struggling with low reads and your story not getting noticed, you can try another platform out.
          
          Don’t give up, keep on truckin’, and always remember to keep your head in the clouds.

Hey friends! 
          I’ve been away for a while…haven’t felt much like writing since my mom passed away on Christmas Eve, but instead of just wallowing in the sorrow, I decided to channel that grief into something creative.
          
          I just posted a new story…it’s a short one…just over 1000 words.  A one-shot short story. In this one, I have included my actual first name because this story was very close to being my own, real life experience. 
          
          This is not fantasy, like I normally write. It’s realistic fiction…and kinda sad. But it is beautiful in its own way.
