Here’s some ideas for your book: A powerful watcher comes to lifesteal looking to hunt down what’s causing the weird watcher energy levels. The lifesteal members all crowd around the horrifying watcher as it stares them down, looking for another watcher (Branzy). Clown tells Branzy to get behind him and that’s when the watcher says smth like: “you, you’re not human. I sense watcher energy” while pointing at Branzy behind clown. Everyone is like confused and Branzy is gaslighting the hell out of the watcher.
The watcher throws a knife or mythical weapon at Branzy to test him, that’s when the eye appears. The weapon stops right in front of it, held in place by its power. The watcher just assumes that Branzy is actually human, and only senses the energy coming from the eye. They assume they thought Branzy was a watcher because the eye was near him. Branzy keeps his hidden identity, but not before some showdown with the watcher and the eye
