I kind of wish there were more stories with people of color on Wattpad, you know? Like all I ever see are stories about urban life or some forbidden love tale of a black woman with a white dude (like what even? It's is 2018 guys!) and I mean that ok... it's just I'd like to see my fantasy stories with a main person of color! I'd like to see my historical fiction books with a black, or Indian, or Asian person. Id like to see some crappy werewolf/vampire romance with black vampires or a Latin America being the origin place for all things supernatural! I'd like to see me I guess? It's just I feel like people like me are interesting too, we can be the hero in the fantasy novels, the wise high school teacher, the dorky best friend. We can be people- playing many roles and developing different ideas and perspectives based upon our backgrounds- we don't need to be caricatures of our races (the exotic thing) or only there as background support when a situation needs extra sass or wisdom. We, the authors get to write all the things that aren't being published, so why restrict ourselves?

Just to say I am incredibly proud of women today. Sometimes it seems that we are hardly unified, that none of us really care about the other. But today we stood up. We stood side by side and said that we can make change. This unification can last. We can make it last.
