I write about health and sexuality, as well as mystery novels set in San Francisco. For 35 years (1972–2007), his journalism focused on health defined broadly, including: optimal wellness, mainstream medicine, alternative therapies, nutrition, fitness, and sexuality.

I also write mystery novels set in San Francisco. My protagonist is newspaperman and historian Ed Rosenberg, named after a childhood friend who died young. The novels also feature Rosenberg’s girlfriend-then-wife, Julie Pearl, their two children, and a good deal of San Francisco’s golden, quirky, raunchy history.
