✨Character Bites✨ Elijah’s “Odd Jobs”
If you’ve read the latest chapter of The Cursed Pharaoh’s Bride, you might have learned that Elijah used to do knife tricks with fire as a child, which got him some attention from some adults in his village. This attention lead to him working as an assistant to a blacksmith. While smelting metals was one of Elijah’s more favorite jobs, he was also hired by farmers to use his flames to help renew their soil during various times throughout the year. Unfortunately, because of Elijah’s gifts, he found himself in various situations where he would almost get kidnapped so those who hired him could force him to work for free. Because of this, Elijah learned from a young age to use his flames to defend himself. He had to learn to conceal his identity as a magic user more to protect himself. Because of this, he also took jobs later on that didn’t involve him using his magic such as working as a stable boy for nobles, which is where he eventually learned how to take care of and ride horses. He may had gotten in trouble as a kid a once for taking a noble’s chariot out for a joy ride.
