The art of Sonder:
A feeling you get when you recognize that everyone has their own full story---as vivid and as complex as your own. I used to fear writing flawed characters, thinking no one would love them. But the idea of sonder inspired and thought me that even the most broken lives are worth knowing. 

Some readers might turn away from imperfections, but others might see themselves in it. My stories are for those readers who need to feel seen, for those who needs to know that being flawed, raw, and imperfect, just like the characters in my stories, is okay. 

If a story scares me to write, I write it---because that's where truth lives.
