master the art of getting your therapist off topic so that u don't have to talk abt the stuff u don't wanna talk abt.
for my therapist it's the plot of any tv show, but usually anime. i just ramble on. go into extreme detail.
drop little things here and there like "i think [the villian] is misunderstood" or "[blank] is portrayed as a protagonist but they've done a lot of problematic stuff and someone should call them out on it" as a treat.
it's like giving a piece of candy to a kid to distract them from the fact that you're driving them to the doctor.
if they try to bring it full circle and relate your distraction to your issue, focus on the distraction half of the question. pretend their question reminded u of a part of the plot u forgot abt.
you are the wolf and your therapist is little red riding hood. show them the flowers just off the path.
