Today is World Literacy Day. As of 2013, 32 million Americans couldn't read or write, a number that hadn't changed since 2003.

Today is bittersweet. Congratulations to countries like Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Andorra, and many other countries that have a literacy rate of almost 100%.

I hope our world literacy rate of 86% changes. Everyone deserve to be able to read and write. Today I'm grateful I'm able to read and write proficiently, especially as a woman. To all my fellow readers and writers on this website, I hope this issue angers you as well. We all know the joy of reading and writing. Let's see what we can do as a community to speak up and encourage change.

Happy 2017 (sorry I'm late)!

I've been super inactive because I've really been focusing on school, extracurriculars, and writing a novel in my free time. I refuse to publish a piece of the novel until I'm satisfied with it and it's finished. It's a rewrite of "Light in Disguise".

Guys, I'm super lucky to have 200 of you, but I get little activity from you. If you could please give me feedback on any of my recent (2015-2016) works, that would help me greatly.

I want to be a writer that has a close knit relationship with my readers. But as of right now, I have no readers. Please help me out.

          Thanks for following me!

Hey, guys!

I'm working on some really great sci-fi/fantasy books, which is why I've been so inactive. But, I'd love it if you guys would let me know what you want me to update! I'm trying to rewrite books I think had potential and delete the half-baked ideas, but your thoughts really help on what books to keep and which to toss.

Please let me know! Thanks for following, I love you!

Please spread the word.

As an artist, I always think there’s room for improvement. I still have a hard time drawing eyes, faces, and hands (all of which I draw frequently) so I decided I wanted practice drawing real people.

And Valentine’s Day is right around corner so that means single people (like myself) will be in a state of self-inflicted misery (Am I not pretty enough? Am I too fat? Why doesn’t he/she notice me?).

So I decided to start Project Love Yourself.

Project Love Yourself is for my friends. My friends that have fought depression, self-harm, and low self-esteem because they are unique and beautiful in a way the media doesn’t show. I instructed two of my friends to take pictures of their face, side profile, body (of course their clothed body), and a dramatic model pose (hands on face, staring into distance, etc.). Then I asked them to laugh.

I will take these pictures (not all of them, of course) and draw my friends. I want them to be able to see themselves in my eyes, where their flaws are their strengths, and their beauty is obvious. I want them to think, “I truly love myself.”

I would be honored if you participated. Not everyone is an artist but that’s okay. Personalize Project Love Yourself to your strengths. Write about someone instead of draw. If photography is your thing, take photos of someone dear to you. Do it however you’d like.

Let’s help our friends love themselves.

Please share this post if you’d like to get involved or would simply like to spread the word. :)

I was nominated by the lovely, sleepy @correlations.

          One- Do you like someone?
I like TWO someones. *wink, wink*

Two- Do they like you back?
I've had moments with each of them, but probably not because only one guy in my entire life has liked me.

          Three- Middle name?
It doesn't matter because a name change will occur one day! So, N/A.

          Four- Single or taken?
          Definitely single.

          Five- Last person I texted?
          My grandpa. :)

Six- Last song I listened to?
          Teenagers by My Chemical Romance.

          Seven- Battery percentage?
I forgot to charge it last night so Tank is at thirty-nine percent and charging.

          Eight- Closest female friend?
          Sam or Lexi or Emma.

          Nine- Closest guy friend?
I don't really have one...but Kaleb would be my closest guy friend. I just don't see him often.

          Ten- OTP?
Umm, I don't have enough room to write them all.

Eleven- Why did you create this account?
I created this account to write, read, and hopefully be noticed by a publisher. The third part hasn't worked out.

          Twelve- Current lockscreen?
A motivational quote that helped me survive finals.

          Thirteen- Birthday?
          January 9th

I nominate @FelicityBissette @Mad-Soccer @Samantha6161 and anyone else who wants to try!
