I love my neighborhood!

@Maddywithbooks - I wish I could say the same. The Bookmobile (the doublewide trailer we bought as a starter home in 2009 and are upside-down with on with our mortgage, which basically means we can't go anywhere anytime soon) is in a super-right-wing, reactionary neighborhood. Some of our neighbors probably took part in the January 6, 2021 insurrection.  We've had our minivan keyed, our pride flags ripped and broken off at the pole, our house vandalized, dog feces left strategically in our yard, and other minor nuisances and harassments in recent years... all because we're openly liberal and openly LGBTQIAPK+ (and in my case, openly Muslim. For the record, I never want to ride the bus home on 9/11 again. That was terrifying. I wear hijab when I'm not in my Sera Drake, Professional Author function...) 
          	  
          	  My family and I are as welcome in our neighborhood as farts are in an elevator.
