Anyway, her name is Penthesilea, but she goes by Penny. Her mother didn't actually want a daughter, believing a son would be easier to care for, and abandoned her on Long Island just a few hours after her birth. Due to this, not only does Penny not legally exist, but she has little to no connection with her mortal side. She was found by a satyr, brought to the camp, and was raised there. The entire camp raised her, really. She mainly uses a Trident to fight that can turn into a bracelet, and she also has a watch that turns into a shield (YES IM COPYING PERCYS SHIELD) that Tyson made. She, like every half-blood, has horrifying trauma in the form that (For the plot, don't attack me-) she watched Percy get crushed by a giant pillar after saving her. As in there was a monster attack on camp (Again), and the dining pavilion was caught on fire (they have those banners up, right? It's been a while since I've read the first book) and trapped some campers inside. Percy ran in to help them (Fatal flaw being loyalty and all), and Penny, being a kid and wanting her big brother, ran in after him after wiggling free from Sherman's hold. After she ran inside, one of the pillars fell, blocking the entrance. Penny reached Percy, and helped him get the campers out of the pavilion. Another pillar started to fall, heading for Penny. She didn't notice it, but Percy did. After shouting her name, he shoved her out of the way, and it crushed him instead. So Penny watched the only family she's really ever had die instead of her. She never quite gets over it. When they were supposed to burn his burial shroud, Penny, being in the denial stage of grief, took the shroud, shouted "He's not dead!" and ran away. Most campers didn't follow, but Annabeth did. After all, she knew how Penny was feeling. Annabeth didn't make Penny give up the burial shroud, but did tell her that when she was ready, she should burn it. (Since he would be able to cross the Styx then)
