Evidence A, a visual representation of when I got to my poncy (and homophobic, racist, islamophobic, sexist) private school and have to act straight because I get in trouble for being too ‘flamboyant’ ( considering I’m there as an academic scholar so therefore have to be quite head-in-the-books) and if I get into more trouble they will reevaluate my place on the school because they don’t like me calling out the sexist rules and homophobic students:

“men- yeah *swallows chun* so s-secksy yeah”

What does the American Dream mean to you? I have recently started asking people as it's like lowkey interesting to hear the variations. So far, I have found that younger, non-Americans think the American dream is get-rich-quick, big house, white picket fence, stay at home wife, a son and a daughter, a pie on the table for when you get back from work. If you could leave the name of your country too that would be really helpful as I am writing an essay on it a can include your submission :) Thanks!!!

This may be too late for your essay, but I’m actually American and I’ve been thinking about this a bit too. Recently I’ve been hearing people talk about immigrants who have lived the true American dream. I think this is really nice because our laws make it so difficult for immigrants to enter our country and become a citizen. So when an immigrant comes to this country and makes a life for themselves I think that’s the best version of the American dream. We owe them so much respect for the hardships they go through. But it is most traditionally talked about like how you described it, getting a good job, car, house, wife, kids. Basically it means: just be successful and don’t be lower class. But I think the horizons are broadening and the term American is really changing for us because there are so many different kinds of people that make up our country, the good people and the bad people. Idk. I kinda just kept typing idk if any of what I said made any sense. Ok bye now :)
