So I just got a Tumblr account and I saw a lot of post where people were pointing out all the problems and mistakes that Rick Riordan made with the portrayal of people of color. I didn’t know how many people had issues with the representations there were because I’m an uneducated white girl that has never had a problem with incorrect representation. I want to learn more about why people have problems with these things so that I can understand them better, I know that I’ll never be able to understand fully but I want to make an effort to understand better. I hope more people who don’t know or understand also try understanding because I feel like acknowledging that portraying people correctly is very important. 
          If someone wants to teach me more about their culture I would be happy to listen. 
          I want everyone to keep in mind that everyone deserves equality because we’re all human and I know that sounds fake coming from a basic sheltered white girl but I honestly feel bad that I don’t know more about other religions, cultures, and customs. Please if anyone wants or needs to talk I’m always open. I want you all help me learn about things that I don’t know about. I love you all cause you’re all amazing. Thank you.

So I just finished watching the movie Clouds and I am a mess of tears because it was such a good movie and it was so sad. It’s based on a true story and it’s so beautiful, you should definitely go watch it. But prepare yourself to cry.
