I've heard that's untrue. I've been told by a Gryffindor themselves that the hat never mentions sorting you into that house. You have to ask it. Maybe it's a test set up by Godric Gryffindor himself, I don't know, but if that's true... Well, I'm sure you understand that weight of that.
