I've had the erge to say this to YOU these past few days I just didn't know if I should. Your new diagnosis doesn't define you. It takes a super strong person the guts to come out about it and tell us you don't want to be like your father. And we can all tell that you genuinely don't want to. I believe that you can achieve that, that you won't be like him, that you do can do this. A diagnosis doesn't define anyone, it only helps them grow. At times you may feel like you don't know who you are, or what your doing in you life but believe me that's life. You push through, I know you have and still can. Every day is a new day and that's something so simple yet incredible. You may not know who you are entirely but you have years to figure it out, my grandparents are in their early seventies and don't know every bit of their personality, I'm fourteen and barely know myself. I swear you can get through this. You are a truly blessed and amazing soul. I believe that you will not be like him. Let this diagnosis adapt to you not you adapt to it. You are such a kind soul, I know that 100%.

I have no diagnoses. But I've suspected several over the years, mainly POTS and possibly autism. To me your a role model, you've judged all these books alone, supported small authors, dealt with your trauma and pain, and yet your an amazing person. That doesn't mean you've never done things you regret but don't like in a shell. I care about you, I really do. Please know were rooting for you, that we want you to be okay and want to help you when you need. If you ever need someone to rant to (even if I'm young and might not understand) feel free to come to me. We love you so much and could never say that enough.

@MagickalMuse2 Thank you! You truly deserve the amount of people who have came to support you even if you haven't seen it 100%

Thank you so much for saying all of that. I actually really needed to hear it. I’ve been in a severe depressive episode for a bit now, but your words really made me smile. You’re a very good soul, too, and I’m glad I know you.

Because of your reaction to the material in the "Hod" chapter, I realized I'd probably failed to convey something important: "Magister" is a people-pleaser who doesn't like to disappoint anyone, and he needs to remember that he, too, has a right to safeword out of something that doesn't sit well with him. If his adjunct asks him for something unreasonable, he doesn't have to agree, nor does he have to see things to their conclusion, even if his adjunct fails to use her own safeword. I suspect I didn't make it clear enough in the "Hod" chapter that he is preparing to set up something for "ancilla" that he would rather not do.

Also, hopefully by this part of the book, it's clear that he is very literal-minded, and sometimes fails to see past his own nose - as does "ancilla," who takes that a few steps further into outright selfishness, because she's a lot younger than he is and has never had a chance for a real adolescence, so in some ways she can be rather childish... And, like me, they're on the autistic spectrum. This makes them understand each other on a deep level, but it can cause communication problems at times.

I've set them up for disaster in the "Netzach" chapter, which, for all that it was the shortest chapter, was also the hardest to write. I hurt for my characters in that chapter.

Anyway, your comments made me think that I wasn't conveying something important, especially since enthusiastic consent is such an important part of my narrative. I had to hint a little bit harder in advance that what was going to happen in "Netzach" was something both characters had deeply mixed feelings about, and that "Magister" would have stopped the activities had "ancilla" used her safeword, never mind his telling her the safeword would be suspended. So I tweaked things to show that he was helping her plan the ordeal at her request, and he wasn't happy about it, but he would go through with it anyway because she had asked.

I appreciate the clarification. I’m actually also on the spectrum. I will be reading more, but your book is intense (in a good way), so I’m taking it slow and reading one chapter at a time.

I am slowly but surely starting to finish reading the rest of the books that placed first, second, or third in the main categories. (As promised in the prize list, I will read each of those books in their entirety.) It’s going to take me a long time to finish them all (a few are quite long), but I’m really looking forward to it!

Tomorrow, I’ll publish one of the remaining interviews.
