Oh that’s I like to use them both tbh but I like use the most is past tense. But It depends on your story mood and the way u want it to sound First-person present gives in the moment feel, while first person past feels natural, reflective, and smooth. So either, but if you say like start off like telling someone’s childhood then I would suggest irst-person past tense is usually the best choice for a life-spanning story that covers childhood and adulthood. It lets u show the growth of your characters and First Person Present Tense Makes every scene feel like it is happening right now. But it u want use both Give each tense a clear physical place for present tense make sure to mark is as now and if u do a flashback mark a section called past tense but be careful because Switching tenses inside the same scene or chapter feels messy and confuses the readers.
I hope this helps sorry for the late reply.

@kh0611 can I get your opinion on writing style? Which one sounds better, first person present tense, or first person past tense? ❤️
