Heavy based stories is something that i did encounter at least once when it comes to dragon stories, i guess i've misunderstanded the meaning of your words a bit. @bgcvetan for the most part, this account has been dead, but I saw this and wanted to clarify. I don't care if they write a fantasy story where a kid finds a dragon, that's a pretty common plot. They can write as many of those stories as they want. The part I was saying no to is that they were asking if they could write a story "heavily based on" DS, implying the copying of a large number of important elements of DS- that is to say, essentially, rewriting DS, which would be plagiarism. if they want to write a fantasy story, that's fine, so long as they don't write /our/ story.

@WhiteStarTheGuardian i apologize for interfering between you two, but i have strong urge, there are many stories that follow simillar plot at their core (not talking of DS who is unique and well and long thought, but fantasy genre in general) and i'm sorry if this may (and probably will) angry ManedWolf71 (for what im about to state) but if you have that inner desire to create a story, Dew it (Don't publish/upload it but rather) for personal self improvement of your writing skills.
