Heavy based stories is something that i did encounter at least once when it comes to dragon stories, i guess i've misunderstanded the meaning of your words a bit. @bgcvetan for the most part, this account has been dead, but I saw this and wanted to clarify. I don't care if they write a fantasy story where a kid finds a dragon, that's a pretty common plot. They can write as many of those stories as they want. The part I was saying no to is that they were asking if they could write a story "heavily based on" DS, implying the copying of a large number of important elements of DS- that is to say, essentially, rewriting DS, which would be plagiarism. if they want to write a fantasy story, that's fine, so long as they don't write /our/ story.
