Maria del Socorro has changed her author name into Mia del Socorro. As Mia, she has written and published a short story, “Love Under Cover” (Buqo, Summit Media, 2014) and a novel, “A Second Spring in New York” (Smashwords, 2015) even though she started writing “Virgin Bride” first.

Mia started writing love stories, quite magically, when she was eight in order to amuse herself and her two older sisters while they were quarantined in their room during a summer school break due to a nasty bout of chicken pox. For the next eight years, she was in ferment, writing love stories and feature articles, one of which was published in a nationally-distributed newspaper when she was just twelve. Then the fiction-writing muse left her, just as suddenly as it had come.

She went on to pursue a career in business and economics, working in a number of financial institutions and teaching finance and economics courses in several universities. She got married and had four children.

To her great and very pleasant surprise, her old friend from way back, the fiction-writing muse, revisited her once more and quite magically, again, she resumed writing love stories. This time, though, Mia does not intend to allow her collaboration with her muse to stop. After all, she is back to doing what she loves most– writing stories that warm the heart.

She considers herself primarily a storyteller and hopes that readers will find her stories entertaining and memorable.
