Hello Hip Fishes, I'm breaking character one time and one time only to tell you how sorry I am that it came to this. The work that put me on the spotlight, my life's work, Queen Of The Waves has been unpunished. I know this may come as a surprise to some of you because of the sheer amount of work I've put into finishing this work, but unfortunately I have to put it on hold.
As I'm sure you know, QotW is an abstract satirical commentary on harmful tropes commonly found in children's media fandoms. When I was a child my favorite show was taken over by adults who posted things that no child should have to see when looking up their favorite characters. It scarred me for life.
While I was in quarantine I rewatched all of the shows I used to adore as a kid, and all the boredom mixed with all of the memories created what we know today as Queen of the Waves.
It is my firm belief that children's media should be safe for children. No child should have to be exposed to 18+ content. Full stop. It's ok to enjoy shows but it I cannot express in words how important it is to remember that there is a target demographic that consumes the same media you are putting out into the world.
Sadly someone took my story and misconstrued the meaning of the text despite the multiple warnings both on my account and in the description of Qotw. I'm under a lot of stress at the moment and having to defend my writing is very tiring.
So, I've decided to take a break and discontinue Qotw for now. I'm unsure when exactly it will be put back into motion but I am determined to finish it sometime in the near future. Even though i will loose my read/vote count, this break will give me time to work on future chapters while everything calms down. Until that time comes, feel free to check up on my other projects!
