Hey everyone,
Thank you for reading and commenting as you go through the recent story of mine, "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter". It is really helpful to see all the comments and support. It is what keeps me going writing on Wattpad.

I do have to let you all know, I do intend to continue with this story. I literally have written half of the next chapter, but I am OVERWHELMED right now with my small business. I started a new small business of running a ghost tour in my small town. And it is REALLY doing well. I had an interview/article of me and the tour in the local newspaper. I've been invited to join the Harvest Festival on Saturday (last minute, but they really want me there), and I've got 7 tours starting this Friday through Halloween week. I have to focus on my new business right now, watching my health, so I can do all the tours.

So, I've got to take a break right from Wattpad. I'm trying to fight off allergies, which if I get overwhelmed, can lead to infections and being sick. Which I can't let happen since I need my voice and health right now. So, I'm going to take a few weeks away to focus on my new venture, and should return with new chapters in November.

I'm also going to be at Authors Nation 2024 in Las Vegas mid-November. So, if you are there, stop by and say hi at my table on RAVE day. More info on my website at:
          	https://www.marilynvix.com.

So, yeah. Super overwhelmed and busy. So, cutting back on some things right now will really help. Thank you for understanding, and there will be new chapters soon in November.

          	And of course, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
          	-Marilyn

Greetings everyone,
I wanted to do a little update for my "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter" story. Firstly, I didn't get shortlisted for the Watties. Oh well. But I did get on a Wattpad Ambasadors Reading List with other spooky and Halloween oriented stories. I feel that's a big win and acknowledgement that something is going right. So, I'm going to continue with this story, trying to add weekly updates as much as possible.

Which brings me to my next point. I'm going to have to switch to a new upload time to be on Sundays again. When I was working Ren Faire, it was necessary to move it to Fridays. But I'm back home and running a new ghost tours business in my small town. Tours run on Friday and Saturday nights. So, I need to focus more on those for the beginning of the weekend. And then, do the post on Sundays, when I'm off from my tours.

It has been a lot of fun writing "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter" the last few months, and it really is jiving with my new small business too. I'm still stuck on some paranormal romances. I'm hoping that sticking with this story will help jog loose some ideas for my other works-in-progress.

Just as an announcement too, if you're in the Las Vegas area mid-November, I'll be at the Authors Nation conference and RAVE day. I'll be selling my books at my table, and I have "Thankful In Vegas" on pre-sale too for the con. If you're there, stop by my booth. I'll be happy to sign your book and will have a couple more on sale too.
Here's the link to my book online if you'd like to buy it early. They'll print it there for you too.

Hello everyone,
I hope you're having a wonderful September. I am enjoying the fall changes and cooler weather. It's one of my favorite seasons. Of course, if you love pumpkin spice drinks, it's the start of that as well.

I'm still giving my full effort on my ongoing story, "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter". It's coming along, and I look forward to posting each week a new chapter for you. Since the story takes place in September and October, it's a great read for this time of year. So, if you've just started it, welcome. I hope you enjoy. For those following along for awhile, thank you for sticking with me.

I did want to give you all a heads-up that I'll be posting on Fridays for the next couple of weeks since I'll be working at a Ren Faire for the next couple of weekends. It's more difficult for me to write and post while I'm there. So, on Fridays, before my long drive, I'll be posting the newest chapter. So, I just wanted to let you all know that was happening. I should be able to return to Sunday posting when I'm back home. But then, if it works out better, I could stick with Fridays. We'll see.

So, thank you and I'll endeavor to continue writing gripping and exciting chapters for this paranormal read. I am still crossing my fingers it gets on the short list for the Watty's. A hope I seem to have each year. Maybe it will happen this time, right? A girl has got to dream.

Take care, and have a wonderful September!

Greetings everyone!
I'd like to update you all on the "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter" progress. It looks like my weekly posts are around Sunday. Depending on your time zone, I'm posting Saturday night to Sunday morning California PDT. So, look for it in regards to your time zone around that time. I've been basically trying for Sunday. But because the marvelous internet is multiple time zones, I thought I'd give you all a heads up to the time zone I'm posting in. That way, you can figure out when that would be for your time zone.

I just posted Chapter 15 for "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter". Thank you to those that have followed and joined the writing journey of this story this week. I look forward to reading your comments as I progress. Please let me know what you think. I do read every comment. They help spur me to keep writing.

Here is the current chapter post:

Again, thank you for making this story popular. I'm crossing my fingers that it makes the Short List for the Wattys. I know it's a long shot, but you just never know.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Greetings everyone!
I'm very proud to announce that I have done it. I made the word count to enter "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter" into the Wattys this year. I am very proud to have made this goal, especially since I came down with COVID a little over a week ago. Yes, I'm okay, and my heart condition allowed me to get some Paxlovid to make sure I didn't end up in the hospital. But I have to say, there were times last weekend I thought I might have given up the idea of trying to finish. But I thought, just rest, get better, write when you can. Which was hard, because this new COVID strain has the worst, migraine like headache.

But I just finished typing the 13th chapter and published. It qualified me at over 20K so I can now enter the Wattys. I am so happy to have finally made it. I'm going to rest now, and work on my tagline and summary tomorrow. I have been having symptoms return on me today, and I'm just happy I can rest now that this next section is done and published.

I hope you enjoy reading my last few added chapters and stay tuned. I will have weekly additions now. Likely, it will be around Monday. Or Sunday. I usually get into a writing rhythm and that will dictate my weekly publish day. But for now, I'm celebrating getting it to the point I can enter.

I'm looking forward to continuing this story's journey with you. Please follow, and I'll be adding each week.
          Until next week,
          Marilyn

Greetings everyone!
As many of you might know, it's Watty's season. And after a lot of soul searching, I've decided to work on my "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter" as my Watty's entry. It is an ongoing story and fits my mindset of writing right now. Plus, it's a different genre offshoot from my normal genres, paranormal. It hasn't been shaping into a romance of any sort. It seems to be more of a self-finding story with paranormal as the key. A loner finding a community through ghost hunting.

The only problem is it's about 8k words short of qualifying. So, I have to write enough words to get it to 20K before the Watty's entry window closes. I have my work cut out for me. I do have two weeks though. SO, I'm going to get to it. I have the research I did on my recent investigation at the Washoe Club. So, I'm hoping this will be a fun couple of weeks getting it ready for entry. Any support will be appreciated. I read all the messages, and they DO HELP! So thank you.

I look forward to talking with you all as I progress with this story and get it ready for the 2024 Watty's Awards. Bookmark it so you can follow the progress. Thank you if you already follow. I'm going to try to do a couple updates a week to get it up to 20K. Crossing fingers right now. It's going to be interesting way to spend the end of July. Thank you for the support. I look forward to reading your comments.

Hello again,
Thank you for all the comments before. It's good to hear from you. It really helps so I don't feel I'm just yelling into a void. I've gotten back from paranormal investigating in Virginia City, NV. Wow. That town does not disappoint. I had some crazy experiences investigating at the famous Washoe Club. I got touched on my arm, caught a lot of orbs with my night vision camera, captured a stick figure patting another investigator on the head with my SLS camera, and heard a couple disembodied voices (A Man's disapproving clearing of his throat and a woman yelping). I got an overlay communication from a spirit named "Scotty" while in his former apartment in the back of the building. I felt the sorrow, depression and had shortness of breath. So did two other investigators.

We sat in his room and talked to him for an hour and a half. We saw a large bright orb with our naked eyes. The EMF meters were going off like he was walking around the room talking to us. Another member got scratched on the back of her neck (not by him, he was lovely). We even played 70s rock music which he liked. We asked what he'd like to listen to after we played "Queen", and "Credence" came through on our ovalus app. So, we played Credence and Clearwater. It was a real intense investigation.

Plus, my hotel where I stayed, I was in the haunted room. I should know better. It was hard to sleep because of the knocking on the wall, walking and pacing on the floor above me. On the second night, things got dropped on the floor (my ceiling). No one was checked into the room above me. I did get that knocking on video with my phone. It was hard. He stopped every time I tried.

So, I'm pretty sure I got some hands-on research for my "Wanna Be a Ghost Hunter" story I'm working on. First, I'm writing up my report to my lead investigator, and then I'll get working on adding to my story. Talk about investigating to motivate to write.

You all have a great weekend!

"That is good for the research. I am glad that it'll come in handy. All that Pyro had was the following:

            1. An elderly woman spirit in her nightgown checking on the addition to his home.

            2. A tall shade that woke Pyro (came out from the addition). Only to be punched by him... yes, he hit him," Hailey monotones. She inhales and shrugs.
"3. Pyro was drawn to presences. He tends to look at specific spots at random. Especially when walking by a house... I don't know. Maybe there was dog. He stared down at the fence line." Hailey slowly stretches.

Greetings and salutations,
I hope you're having a great start to your summer. I wanted to send out an update with some exciting news. I've been working on a new novella for my "Never Date A Vampire" series. This is one of my paid ebooks that goes out on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other e-retailers. I haven't been able to finish it before since I've had the worst writer's block. But I took a writer's intensive workshop with one of my editors. And it unstuck me. I've been doing some rewriting and finally getting some progress on the manuscript. I tell you, it's a great feeling to finally be on the road to getting it complete. I'll keep you updated.

Most exciting is that I'm going on a paranormal investigation of the Washoe Club in Virginia City, NV next weekend. It's a full lockdown in that famous location. The group I've joined has some experienced paranormal investigators I'm really excited to work with. It will help in my research for my Wattpad story, "Confessions of a Wannabe Ghost Hunter". If you'd like to check it out, it's here. https://www.wattpad.com/1308772618-confessions-of-a-wannabe-ghost-hunter-chapter-1

I'm hoping to work more on that Wattpad story after investigating there. Plus, I went on the first open-to-the-public investigation of the Winchester Mystery House back in March. It was hosted by the TAPS: West Coast chapter. They did an awesome job setting up everything in five different rooms. The tour guides led our groups from one to the other. We could bring along our own equipment too. I got a REM pod just to use in there. I used knitting as a trigger object. I've also gotten an SLS camera for the Washoe Club investigation. So, look for those equipment references in Wannabe Ghost Hunter Confessions story. It all should really help in bringing realism to the story.

So, take care. I'll update again soon. Happy Summer! Don't get in too much trouble.

Well hello!

It's a whole new year. I've been swamped with trying to steer back into some kind of normal from the Holiday Season. I'm also trying to focus a lot on my mental health this year, ie "Don't over do it!". LOL I'm focusing on my health and well-being by taking things slower and letting myself focus on myself too. Which means, I'm pushing myself less these days.

But I do enjoy my little writing experiments that I dive into on Wattpad. I continued "Saving My Heart", exploring all the delicious complications that can happen after a couple seems almost together. Well, they got married, but I'm answering the question, was it rushed?

I'm continuing my paranormal investigation research to get some more hands-on experience. One investigation will be at the Winchester Mystery House and the other is at the Washoe Club in Virginia City. Super excited to be doing the real thing, and then taking that experience and putting it into my stories. Yes, I've been investigating some other places too. I've been to Zak Bagan's Haunted Museum in Vegas several times. I have a whole story about the crazy experiences there. I'm sort of writing a true experience story with some characters I made up to help organize the plot structure. All the things that happened didn't occur on one tour, but over several starting in 2017 up through my last time there in December 2021. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm about due for another visit.
          Anyway, here is that story.

So, I just wanted to give you all an update on how things are going. I truly hope you are having a great start to 2024, and I hope you're able to check out my updates as you see them appear.

Stay safe and warm this winter!
          Until next time,
