@Dd5981147 I think the most important thing you can do is to let Kai live in your head and let him live and breathe and just exist in your story. And Maybe come up with 3-5 adjectives that could describe him in the beginning, and by the end of the story, only 1 or 2 of the adjectives can change, otherwise the characted loses consistency.... Also, get the backstory right in your head for all the characters, not just Kai, even if the readers will never see some parts of the backstory. That will kind of guide all your character's actions... I'm soo glad you liked my take of Kai! Also, dont overthink too much... the best way to improve is to just write! Even i didnt like the first few chapters of how things changed forever, you can always go back and change!!
