I am passionate about creating a more organic breed of Vampire based on European Pagan rituals and magic. This means new rules, a Clan of Vampires selected to serve the Dark Powers that lay beyond in the Otherworld. Their duty is to feed the haunted souls with the essence and lifeforce found in blood. The Clan is broken into three groups serving the Past, Present and Future. In this time old battle Nature is counterbalancing with the creation of Lightsiders who need to learn their craft to prevent the domination for a higher species. First the Lightsiders need to survive, each isolated they learn about themselves and their inner strength, each fighting their own battle until a climatic ending. I am using real locations drenched in Pagan history and rituals and symbols that are still used today. This is a terribly brief outline!!!!

The short story I have posted is an introduction to the trilogy introducing the readers to one of the characters. I wanted it to feel very different to the novel, so I have captured a moment of time in the past that one of the Vampires remembers with interest.
