I really enjoyed this story, once I got into the rhythm of the AI-style of the text … it felt like it was lulling me into a non-human, digital frame of mind which was accentuated by the context of the academic, textual location. It kept reminding me of the CCRU except with less drugs and less Lovecraft. I enjoyed the garden scene a lot, and I really enjoyed the section about meditation and mindfulness … I’ve been slowly working on an “anti-mindfulness” idea for a while, and I felt a lot of resonance with it and your story.
