I want to wish all my followers a Brave New Year. I say this rather than Happy New Year, because at the end of last year, my family lost a child – only 16 years old, on the precipice of being a man, healthy as any could ask. Too early to be lost, but lost he was. Love your families, and help them grow strong, but always remember that life is delicate, and each minute may be the last you have with them. Make your minutes count.

Well, after trying to write while "the Real Boss" has me doing honey-dos concurrently, I've found that bi-weekly isn't going to happen. Unless I get more hours in the day or days in a week, that is. But I'll still try. Meantime, I'd love feedback on my current works. I know they are rusty, but if someone could give me their thoughts on them, it's help me greatly. Many thanks!

Well, after getting the majority of my "honey-do's" done here at home, I am "back in the saddle again" – sorry Gene Autry (-; I've just completed some needed updates to Exploring the Stars, and you might be willing to read (or re-read) it and let me know what you think. And I'm again hoping to get something popped into WattPad on a weekly basis moving forward.

One Year Later ...

It's been just over a year since I retired from the daily grind. Things I do now:
          1. Wake no earlier than 7:00 AM – 7:30 is more common
          2. Get out on my bike three times a week – Sun, Tue and Thur are my days for a nice 25 miles
          3. Writing SciFi – although this has been delayed by …
          4. Completing honey-do projects to finish our first-floor remodel
               a. Building bookshelves for our den (11 by 7.5 feet, or 3.3 by 2.3 meters)
               b. Building a new 1.5 meter (5 foot) mantel above our new fireplace
          5. Not thinking of anything "work-related" at all for the past >370 days

I'll add that I'm also enjoying myself still. I loved my career, but I promise, I do not miss it. :-D

Well, I found out what might keep me from posting regularly. When you retire and your SO decides that now is a good time to totally remodel the main floor of the house, and when there are so many things that you are suddenly responsible for that you hadn't been previously, well, writing just sort of falls behind. I apologize for this, but I will get back and update Exploring the Stars with some ideas I should have included, as well as a new book I'm writing.

But the house needs to be finished first. So I'll probably have to hold off until early August. Sorry, friends!

If anyone has read my story "His Better Half" before today, you may want to make sure you re-read it. I found out that if you go to the end of the story before it has a chance to fully populate in your browser, the system will stop loading it. This makes for a less than optimal reading experience.

I have re-released my story "His Better Half" in 8 parts so the issue with the original version are taken care of. Look for it as "His Better Half - Re-Released".
