Serious question, how come the absolute BEST writers have such a few books in their public libraries? I can absolutely NOT read a great book and not add it to its belonging section (as seen by the many 100+ reading lists on my page lol), and if authors have as much talent to find amazing stories as they do to create them, those would be absolute gold mines...

@MaryAnnLewis01 - Mediocre work is that which is not exactly bad, but it certainly isn't great - if it's graded, it might receive something in the B-C range. If it were to be professionally reviewed, it would get some nice words in one or two sentences from someone at Kirkus, but not the coveted Kirkus Star. It's work that is decent enough but certainly not Nobel, Pulitzer, or National Book material. It won't ever find its way into a Norton Anthology...

My poetry probably falls under that category. Sigh. The other students in the poetry writing workshop I was taking laughed at it because it was so pretentious. It would appear that I am not the next TS Eliot.

          	  That was decades ago.

Anyway, you were curious as to how I might explain mediocrity, so there it is: Look at my poetry. It is neither bad nor great, and it's mostly off the literary radar, probably with good reason.

I'm glad you are enjoying my novel. <3

Just to be clear, I haven't even gotten around to exploring your library, because I have been consumed by your work in such a way it feels like a cannibalistic mirror of souls- as if that made any sense at all... but maybe it doesn't have to, your book in the most profound way possible is the farthest thing from mediocre I could imagine- whilst it also makes me believe you could explain to me mediocrity in such a way that gives it new depth deserving of what you write... My highest admiration is reserved for the art you managed to create with words and pictures alone.

@MaryAnnLewis01 - Note to self: large library is a sign of mediocrity, edit harder

Thank you for adding my debut novel to one of your Favorites shelves!

In answer to your profile questions: I can't say I feel more awkward writing in my own voice than in the voice of one of my characters. I don't think about the voice I use. I just write. Like you, though, I prefer to publish finished or at least polished works. Wattpad seems to be geared more toward serials and works in progress, though.

I don't know how people squeeze fancy fonts into their profile descriptions. ASCII art is easy to find on the internet, though, which makes for pretty space decorations.
