@ZuitheRedfox That was one of my choices, actually. But since "Jungle Juice" is all about using the mechanisms of the insect's body as a human, which leads to various combinations and uses that the insect wouldn't actually be able to achieve, I thought "What's an easy choice?"
The Mantis Shrimo is literally an anime protagonist in this aspect.
The less interesting part of their kit is their eyes, which have 16 color receptors (all the colours in the rainbow come from our three) which can detects SO many wavelengths of light including ultraviolet.
And then you got the murder sticks and clubs they have for legs. They can literally punch with the acceleration of a gunshot from a 22 caliber rifle, reaching speeds of like 20 m/s. That's like less than a second. If a person could move their arms at even 1/10th of that speed, we could throw a baseball into ORBIT.
And underwater, due to this acceleration, the water around the punch boils and creates a bubble of cavitation, which bursts the instant after. So the poor thing getting punched feels the punch, and then the shockwave from the bubble, WHICH CAN PRODUCE TEMPERATURES SIMILAR TO THE SURFACE OF THE SUN along with some bursts of light (which, when translated into anime/manga/manhwa logic, is a good excuse to add visual effects).
I mean they literally dismember other arthropods they punch, and can even punch through glass tanks and boots. They can split thumbs if handled incorrectly.
Sorry for the long rant but like, this is the perfect animal to turn into a power for a character. Now, I'm sure the bullet ant has some similar stuff and it's cool as fuck but for now I'm sticking with the mantis shrimp.
