There is an excerpt from my WIP following the short stories Ghost Drums and The Blood of Cowards. My WIP is a grimdark fantasy and the inspiration for the scene depicted in the excerpt was Elizabeth Bathory. She was a Hungarian countess and quite possibly the most prolific female serial killer in history. She was accused of killing hundreds of girls and as the lore goes, she bathed in the blood of her victims as she thought this would preserve her youth.
