Matt is primary a published playwright  with over twenty titles in print through Dramatic, Heuer, Brooklyn and Eldridge Publishing respectively. Through conversations with Edward Albee he composed Who's Afraid of Me, Myself & Edward Albee? which premiered at the FringeNY Festival in 2013.  His co-written musical comedy Mistletoe, Music & Mayhem! was commissioned by North Coast Rep Artistic Director David Ellenstein in 2010. North Coast Rep has also commissioned The Perfectly Preposterous Pirate Adventure, Beatrice the Butterfly and a musical adaption of The Little Mermaid.  In 2008, the San Diego Rep commissioned his play Star & Crosses. This piece was presented during the Lipinsky Jewish Arts Festival that year.  In 2007 Compass Theatre commissioned 9066, the story of a Japanese-American family interned at the Manzanar Camp during World War II as well as The 146 Point Flame, which was later selected for the San Diego Fringe Festival for 2014. His non-fiction work can be found in Arcadia Publishing and his fiction can be found in varying short story strongholds. He dapples in micro fiction stories. He holds a Master's Degree in Theatre from San Diego State and a Master's of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from UC Riverside.
