Poetry and Prose
Inspired by some of my favourite authors: Steinbeck, Fowles, Fitzgerald, Hardy, Austen, the Brontes, Orwell, Green Shakespeare, etc.
Other great books I've read include The Hunger Games Trilogy, Dracula and Frankenstein (I love gothic horror) and To Kill a Mockingbird.
I'm always interested in looking for new works, particularly poetry inspired by the Romantics and Victorians (I completed a Project about the similarities of Victorianism and Modernism for my college), and political literature, as well as texts capturing the essence of romance, just as Fitzgerald did.
I am influenced by my life in the UK, but also by my Italian roots, and themes I associate with my Italian heritage often come across in my writing. I am music and loved the Britpop movement, and this has influenced the themes of my writing, as well as injecting some British concepts into my works.
I find it hard to have a favourite book of all time, but the one that affected me the most would either be Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, or his magnus opus, East of Eden.
I am currently studying English Literature at a Key Stage 5 level, and am looking forward to continuing studying it at university next year.
As well as the poetry collections I am experimenting with here, I have written a full-length novel, The Rose of Edinburgh (which I am hoping to get published soon), and have recently started my second novel, As The Hours Tick On.
