If I was a video game, I'd have "nice" and I have "good" on my health bars.  Dealing with people drains energy from them. The one on the left runs out first, when I'm done smiling. The second meter on the right then starts running down. At some point, I'm all out of good.

We can choose to be brave. Fight your fear. Go do things anyway. But if that fails, "I'll show them! I'll show them all!" is okay, too.
