Eh, I dunno. The genre itself has been done a bunch of times and sometimes has this rinse and repeat formula that can get a little stale the more you read into it.
But be aware that there's absolutely nothing wrong with these stories and I do appreciate sharing the idea with my friend. It's just I don't know if he can pull off your request since from what I've seen, that might not be his specialty.
