This is for a school assignment
The normally dark blue, almost black sky, which was illuminated by countless twinkling stars and mesmerizing colours was now bathed in a dull grey, as if someone had covered the sky in concrete. All of a sudden, it was lit up by a blinding orange and a darker grey, this wasn't the sun, no this was the fruits if human violence and spiteful intelligence; almost immediately after, an ear-splitting 'BOOM' reverberated across the city, the force uprooting the trees and desintegrating the closest properties. Havoc. The screams start first, then the alarms start blaring, the incessant roaring punctuating the air. The deceptively sweet smell stained the atmosphere; the nitroglycerin hanging in the air. This wasnt the first time, but what was so much scarier was that it surely not the last. As petrified people shrieked more implements of war rained down decimating the once urban landscape. If you stuck your tongue out flakes of ash would settle upon it in likeness to a tainted snowflake and the deceiving gracefulness of one, yet leaving an acrid taste behind, like the bitterness humans hold for each other.
