@MelKirk.  Thanks ever so much for adding A Girl Redeemed to your reading list.
          
          I set the story in California and in Africa, in the village in Liberia where I served as a Peace Corps teacher at Holy Cross Mission.
          
          So real people have inspired some of my characters.
          
          And much of my own African experience is woven in to the story.
          
          If you like Lisa, she appears as a supporting character in Risking All for Love, which I wrote the year after.
