After studying at Eastern Oregon University, I enlisted in the United States Navy where I specialized in the inspection and maintenance of aircrew survival equipment used by the pilots and aircrew of helicopter and P-3 Orion squadrons at Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii. There, I married a fellow Parachute Rigger. Now I homeschool our three daughters in 
Oregon.
