Thanks so much for reading and voting a star on my short story! If there's any suggestions you have about making the writing better, I'd love to hear your thoughts. (And just for fun, don't you think the LOTR movies should have included the Cleansing the Shire chapter? Of all Peter Jackson's slip-ups, that's the one I have the hardest time forgiving.)

@scot_hanson2000 You're right - especially since Tolkien's writings do tend to follow the monomyth's pattern. It would have been a better demonstration of the hero's journey.

@Mellonea Absolutely - looking at LOTR from the monomyth perspective of Joseph Campbell, that scene was the demonstration of how the heroes had been changed by the adventure and were able to benefit their community, not just sit around in the pub. Ah well. :)
