So today is 9/11. For my non-American melodies, that date may not be important to you. For most of you, however (I think?) this day carries a heavy message. For those of you who don’t know, in this day in 2001, a terrorist group hijacked 4 planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center (aka the Twin Towers) in New York, the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the last was reclaimed by the passengers of the plane and crashed in a field. For the families and friends of the victims of this attack, today is a day of mourning and tragedy. For me and my family, however, it’s a reminder of how good God is. You see, my dad had a meeting in the Pentagon that day, the very section that got hit. On his way, he got a call saying the meeting had been cancelled. He didn’t know what had happened in New York. When my mom and brother saw the news (my dad hadn’t told them about his cancelled meeting), they were devastated. Then, when they saw he was fine, they were completely overjoyed. To me, this day not only makes me proud to be an American, but proud to be a Christian, and a follower of a God who does miracles.
