Hello,
It can take a bit of bravery to submit one’s work to an editor! This might be a way for Wattpad writers to begin to become acclimated to how it feels to have one's work (one's art!), go through this process.
My experience: I am a visual artist, and my education/professional training is in fine art, information research, and records management. Since 2011, I've edited dozens of stories for authors who've submitted their work to a website in which stories with some erotic content are offered.
Goals: My goal is to support fiction writers whose stories will be provided to readers free of charge. Your work would be edited/proofread for spelling, punctuation, grammar, syntax, and/or flow. Things I’m particularly interested in proofing for include use of apostrophes, correct spelling, and flow of your writing for clarity.
Is gratuitous violence or cruelty a prevailing theme of your story? Please don't ask me to edit your story if you seek to promote themes such as religious dogma or cruelty. That said, I enjoy editing stories with complex/sophisticated plots, quirky characters, and/or aspects of magic realism, science fiction, or fantasy. I would have no problem with stories that include sexual content.
I’d take a look at a sample of your work, and we'd communicate beforehand including my editing of a portion of your work for your review. I’d be happy to continue communicating throughout the process. Ultimately it’s up to you to decide whether to use my editing.
If you did like my work, it would be nice to have this acknowledged with a short statement, e.g. ‘I would like to thank mewsedit for editing this story’.
I wish you success with your writing!
