Storytelling is one of the oldest traditions in the world. I am making it my life's work. As a big believer in bibliotherapy, I feel there is nothing that reading a story cannot solve. Reading and writing are intertwined for me, I cannot have one without the other. Authors, storytellers and writers who inspired me as a child include Peig Sayers, Roald Dahl, Jane Austen, Ted Hughes and Seamus Heaney. As an adult, that list has expanded to include W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Edward Albee, Tennessee Williams, Angela Carter, Anne Rice, Salman Rushdie, Margaret Mitchell, Toni Morrison, Franz Kafka, Marquis de Sade, J.K. Rowling, Virginia Woolf, Evelyn Waugh, Stephen King and Daphne du Maurier.
