It was just a normal day, or so I thought. I had stayed home from school the day before and was still faking sick. My dad was supposed to take me to urgent care but I was kind of scared because I was just faking. He was crying in the car, I asked him what was wrong and he said nothing. I asked a few more times and he told me to stop asking. At the time we didn't have a whole lot of money, so instead of going to urgent care we just got cough drops at the pharmacy and went home. Later that night, around 11pm I was still up because my sleep schedule sucks. I heard the front door slamming shut accompanied by the sound of arguing. Obviously I listened in because I knew my dad was drunk and I knew how fast their arguments could escalate due to me monitoring their fights since I was 8 years old. About an hour later I heard a bang followed by crying. I came out of my room to see my mom coming out of my parents shared room, crying with a broken nose. My dad had headbutted her. I screamed at him "what the hell is wrong with you?!" I didn't care in that moment. I didn't care if he slapped me. I was enraged, who does he think he is breaking my mom's nose?

About ten minutes later he kept begging me to give him my Phone. I did and he called the police on himself with it. Thirty minutes later two cop cars and an ambulance arrived from Spokane Valley. I watched as they made the drunken man known as my father kneel on the road in front of our house as they cuffed him and drove him away in a cop car. The man in the ambulance came to check on my mom, she refused to be driven to a hospital due to our lack of money. She just took an ice pack and toughed it out. Her nose won't ever look the same, hell I don't even remember what it looked like before this incident. All this happened because my mom wanted a divorce. Fast forward to know when I'm writing this August 3rd 4:57am. The worst part isn't even my dad breaking her nose. It's the fact that they act like nothing ever happened.
