Title: Death Awaits
“Gouge out my eyes,
All I can see is lies.
This life has been rough,
And I have seen enough.
The Earth is slowly dying as we speak,
And there is not much more I seek.
Death is ready at my door,
He could not have asked for much more.
I shouldn’t accept, however he seems kind,
Saying that he has the peace I need to find.
The peace I need to find, oh how sweet.
But i can try to find it within my heart beat.
However I cannot promise much,
All I want is your touch.
To be here and love,
And to not fly away and leave me behind, like a flying dove.
Like said before, I cannot lie.
I do not know how much time I have before I have to say goodbye.
Hallelujah, praise our lord, giving me life and giving me hope.
But now it’s my turn to say, amen and tie it off with rope.
When I say this, I mean it with all love.
If I die, I am grateful for you all, and I will watch from above.
Now don’t any of you worry about me.
I don’t think death will take me, and I will watch it flee.
No, I will not commit, at least not now,
I just wanted to get this off my chest, as much as my mind would allow.
Now thank you, lovelies, for listening to my little rant,
And I will try to place my soul in the ground like a little plant.
So that is that, my little poem,
My voice still talks to me in a low hum.”
