A Lullaby of Steel & Secrecy has gotten past round 3 of the ONC! 
          
          Also, I did promise a quick inside look at my writing process to meet my weekly deadline... It kind of goes like this over the course of 5-7 days:
          • Write the first half of the chapter.
          • Second guess myself and my writing skill and go back and reread and tweak. 
          • Finish the chapter.
          • Go back and reread to see if my characters' actions feel natural. 
          • Ask myself, did I write how they felt about xyz? Does the dialogue make sense? Do their reactions to said dialogue makes sense? Did I build up that little bit of lore well enough for it to make sense for the reader?
          • Continue to ask myself do they feel grounded? Does the chapter's events flow or is it forced? 
          • Tweak, tweak, tweak.
          • Then I do a quick scan for repetition.. my Achilles heel. 
          • Copy and paste into wattpad and read from there. (sometimes changing the layout from docs to wattpad and seeing it in a different font and size helps me see things I would not have seen when editing in docs only)
          • More tweaking.
          • Give myself a pep talk about it being a first draft and the important thing is to keep going and stop going back to try and edit... Developmental edits and the sorts can come AFTER I've finished the whole thing.

FRIDAY POST!!! 
          Chapter 4 of 'The War of Iron & Gilded Thorns' is out now!! 
          
          This week was extremely difficult for me as I continue to recover from my surgery. 
          
          My workload at home can only be put off for so long... especially with 2 little ones that just adore playing and spending time with their mama. As I am slowly increasing my physical activity, it is not without its consequences. 
          
          Chapter 4 is out, but it is the absolute RAW VERSION.. no edits.. no read overs.. please forgive me!! 
          
          Later on I will be posting a short message on my writing process before an upload, so that you guys can get a sneak peak of what actually goes on behind the scenes when starting a new chapter, and uploading it!

Hello everyone! I figured it was a good time to give you a little writer's update: 
          
          Chapter 3 of 'The War of Iron & Gilded Thorns" is up now. I'm hoping to start writing chapter 4 tomorrow. This is the novel I really want to finish and edit for next year's wattys so no matter what is going on, I WILL be updating every Friday for the very least.
          
          It's been a slowww climb with everything really.. recovery is kicking my behind, but I'm still here and still doing my best to write a little bit everyday. 
          
          'A Lullaby of Steel & Secrecy' has been submitted for the last round of the ONC. I do want to weave Thomas's POV into it and turn it to a full size novel when the ONC is officially over.
