I recently learned of what happened to Muhammed Bhar, a Palestinian man with down syndrome. On July 3rd, several dozen IDF soldiers (Israel Defense Forces) raided his home. With these Israeli soldiers was a combat dog. The soldiers then unleashed that dog on Muhammed, to where it then started to bite and tear apart his arm. While the dog tore his arm off, Muhammed started to pat the dogs head and speak to the dog, saying things like "let go, Habibi" and "enough, my dear." Loving words that his family likely spoke to him. He must've been terrified in that moment to where the only thing he could think of to do was to speak to and try to comfort the dog out of fear. Following the attack, his family reports that The soldiers took him to another room to treat his wounds. The family could hear that Muhammed was in pain and they wanted to enter the room, but the combat soldiers did not allow them to. After several hours, the army forced his family to leave him behind at their house with only soldiers against their will. A week later, the family returned to their home only to find Muhammed's body lying on the floor, covered in blood. Only basic measures were taken to stop the bleeding, such as a tourniquet, and the army eventually abandoned him. They let the dog come close enough to attack him and let him die. Honestly this story is sickening, I truly don't understand how anyone could support the murder of innocents. Free Palestine.
