“ FOR TOMORROW ” Sneak peak
For centuries, humanity has defended Earth from extradimensional beings they named the A P O S T L E S. Only one weapon could fight them: enormous biomechanical mechas, Evangelions. These colossal mechanical beasts required a neuro-emotional sync with a human pilot.
Two elite pilots held the highest sync rates in history.
Codename Scaramouche, who showed a menacingly high sync rate with his mecha since his very first mission. Followed by codename Paska, who had worked closely with him for the last few years. The two had been given the title "deliverers of humanity" - as everyone seemed to believe they were the saving hand to deliver humanity from the looming doom against the war with Apostles.
Despite screeching at one another like cats and dogs, they matched sync rates with unprecedented numbers in the history of NERV. But as feelings festered and threatened to bloom, pilot Y/n met the end of her life. Not by Apostles, but by the hands of another human.
Maybe mankind’s first sin was simply ever existing in the first place. Drowned in despair beyond comprehension, pilot Kunikuzushi brought humanity to an end through the initiation of the Third Impact. But instead of the afterlife, he woke up in his bed - five years before the death of his friend.
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Even so, he'd rather live forever in the past where she exists than face on a tomorrow without her.
