Wattpad is not letting me refollow (I accidentally clicked the button - I'm on an unfollowing spree because I was almost at 1K and that's a hard limit - turns out at least half the accounts I'd been following have been inactive for months, or even years). I've heard that Wattpad uses a timer, so I'll come back later and try to refollow again. I'm sorry :(

@SeraDrake As someone who has been on wattpad for nearly a decade now, I can say this site used to be peak for indie authors. You could write a story, and if you update consistently, you would get some decent reads and follows. The reason I stay on Wattpad and not like to move full time to a site like AO3 is that the comment section is the best here. 
            
            I love how when readers genuinely come, their comments are to die for. We have a very creative and hilarious readers and I love them for it.

@MoVenus2 - I hate Wattpad, Inc, but I love the culture of Wattpad's indie creators who try to have something awesome separate from what Wattpad, Inc foists on us. This platform is unique. I've never seen anything like it. I've heard things were a lot better before Naver bought Wattpad in 2021, though.

@SeraDrake Yeah, I have noticed that happening as well. I think Wattpad, on a whole, has been seeing a large wave of people leaving. I don't blame them, though. The push notifications for coins, etc, really outweigh the number of follows/votes/comments notifications by a grossly high degree. 
            
            And that's just the tip of the Iceberg.
