Just wanted to say that my one shot "His Only Wife" is featured in an anthology made by Ghanaian writers to celebrate the holidays! It's Chapter 4.
Feel free to read the anthology, whether you are Ghanaian or not!

I know I JUST posted a one shot a few days ago, but...I just wrote a flash fic! (Don't hurt me when you read it, just comments are welcome).
It's just over 400 words, and it all kinda happened within 45 minutes, so while I'm still on the high of writing it, I'm posting it. I'll probably hate it tomorrow but oh well.
Disclaimer, it's not a holiday story. Far from it. Sorry not sorry.
Title: Loving You is a Losing Game
Blurb: From the moment Rose and Evan met, it was game over. Their love was instant, the connection undeniable.
But when something threatens to end that love, how will they cope? Can their love persist, or was it all doomed from the start?
“All I know, all I know…loving you is a losing game.”

Merry Christmas Esi!! ✨
Holy cow...you've been on a writing streak! I have so much catching up to do! You go girl!
@4everSherlocked Oh wow I just counted how many works I published this year and you're right 0.0 I counted 9 short stories/one shots and 1 novella, which is weird to think about considering I did an awards and was so sure I'd been uninspired lately! And take your time lol, they aren't going anywhere?
As Christmas is around the corner, I've just published another one shot! This one is an ancient style story set in Ghana around Christmas time. I hope you enjoy it!
Title: His Only Wife
Blurb:
Eighteen year old Akosua Danso has been preparing for her wedding since she was betrothed as a baby, and now the day has arrived.
Except...her groom, unwilling to break with tradition and marry her as his only wife, publicly humiliates her and calls off the wedding in a fit of passion.
As whispers of the chief's daughter being disgraced fly among the wedding spectators, Akosua is placed between a rock and a hard place. She has two choices: cancel the special clause in the bridal contract stating she must be the only wife and marry him anyway, or face the possibility that she may remain forever unmarried in a time when even a chief's daughter cannot be forever under her father's protection.
Her choices are bleak, her hopes even more so. That is, until a third choice is presented before her, one that would have her questioning everything she thought she knew before.

Hey Esi, Acey, my girl, Mochi711 (7/11??? The best place ever???).
*cracks knuckles*
It's Raven raving time!
I've been feeling a bit sentimental cause of the holidays (and my cursed zodiac sign), so I just wanted to stop by and say I appreciate you! Thank you for being in my life and always being so kind to me. You're such a fun person to talk to, and I flipping love your pfp- sorry, I got distracted... I'm staring at it while typing this. Gosh your whole profile's aesthetic is awesome.
Anyway, back on topic. Thank you for being here and for sharing your stories with the world. They're always a blast to read, and I can't wait to keep reading more that you share. I appreciate you being in my life, and I hope you have a great day today!
~ Ravey Raven
@Ravendipity Omg you're gonna make me cry in the clu- okay technically on the couch but let's pretend I still have a social life. (。ŏ﹏ŏ) (╥﹏╥) (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ Idk how you knew I needed this, but thank you. All jokes aside, you're literally one of the best people I've ever met on Wattpad, no, online in general. You make me blush with your every word, but you stand out with how real you are (simping for 3D people and illustrations included). I wish I'd known you earlier but I'm glad to be your friend now (good luck getting rid of me <3) P.S.: I almost forgot to reply cause I was rereading it like 2947485 times with the goofiest grin
I have a question for y'all:
Those of you who are used to reading east Asian influenced stories (aka Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc. novels), what are your thoughts on how to explain an honorific without sounding cringey?
Personally, I dislike romanization in Korean. On the other hand, Chinese pinyin is an official romanization, and I don't mind that as much. If writing a Chinese novel, how would you get the "older/younger sister duo that aren't really sisters but one is a green tea acting like a white lotus" relationship across without making cringey sentences like "aiya! My leg! Zixuan gege, please don't blame Lihua jie, I fell on my own" ?
I'm probably making zero sense but whatever. Idk how else to explain it right now.
@Fata_Viola You're completely right. It might seem like the "easy" way out, but if that's what works for me, then I'll do it. It's ultimately my story, and I believe anyone who takes a chance on it will like it. If they don't like the format, that's their problem :D
@Mochi711 Sounds like a good idea to try out. That way, you provide multiple options and the reader can choose what they want to do themselves. Of course, I'm a fan of that, but I can imagine others calling that the "easy" option. Then again, no one is obligated to read our stories, right? ;)
@Fata_Viola No no, thank you so much for replying! It absolutely makes sense what you said. It's something I've been (over)thinking about, so your advice helped. I think what I'd do is make a reference list of people and ages (and their relationship to the main characters), then for words I absolutely cannot leave out, I'll add them in the beginning with footnotes, or use the perspective of the foreigner main character to explain nuances if possible. From there, it would be implied so that I'm not always repeating the meaning. If someone doesn't understand it, they can go back to the reference list at the beginning of the story. What do you think?
Congratulations, whore!
I know we don't get to talk like we used to (blame our jobs, and your awards--applauding your commitment to the latter, by the way, because the reviews are in depth uwu), but I'm so happy to see you've become a WP Ambassador. Love you, and let's catch up sometime! ❤️
