Hey guys, I wanted to touch on something I've been noticing for a while now and would just like to hear your thoughts too.
None of us are entitled to the services of this site.
The votes, comments, reads, shares, and support from readers are not things that authors are entitled to.
This site offers unique opportunities for people to share their stories with a wide audience range. It can spark growth and support for budding and talented artists, as well as give authors tools for improvement.
HOWEVER,
You are not entitled to those things. We are not selling our books. We are not traditionally published authors with contracts.
Wattpad was created to allow authors to practice their passion for writing and maybe to be discovered. Maybe if your books haven't been highly read or voted on you need to work on perfecting your craft.
ALSO
You are not entitled to the covers, reviews, editing, or tip services that people provide. Even in traditional businesses, providers can decline to serve you. Unless these are services that are being paid for with currencies, not WP coins, you have no entitlement to them.
We need to remember this site is simply a website to share stories, discover and explore new stories, and support people with similar passions.
Acting entitled will get you nowhere, and will cause you nothing but issues.
This is not directed at anyone, but I think it's a good lesson for us all to learn.
Please take care of yourselves!
*Love Novi*
