I love how there are soo many different kinds of aesthetics for a female characters on pinterest but then for men, there are only like, handful. And those also get mixed between themselves. Which means its hard for me to imagine and find aesthetics for my male characters with interesting traits

I know right. Having watched so many bollywood movies, it frustrates me there, too how female characters are treated like cattles. They don't have a mind of their own, and it's like there are only two archetypes: the eye candy or the wife.
And then when I am reading books, it's the same thing, just flipped to the other gender. Which just annoys me so much. Because why is it so hard to find good pieces of stories and media that have human beings be human beings? With depth and layer. regardless of their gender.
The fear of 'if' going to college scares me like shit every day as well.
As for the writing part, I think I struglle with plotting very much more than anything else. Like for all of my stories, I have all my characters fleshed out and the writing is something I work on everyday but I am satisfied with it. I just can't plot to save my life. And even if I do decide on a plotline, middle mein, I will again be like, 'oh, wait the other storyline is much better.' then I am back at square one. It's so frustrating

@Monavacation the way male characters are treated here, that’s how female characters are treated in so many movies—they are either the whore, the good wife or the dead wife of the villain. They are just used as a plot device there as well. But yeah, I need to work on how to write male characters. I think one reason why I struggle is because I have 0 male friends, so idk how to write their dialogue. I hope that changes when I go to college (*if* I go to college, rn I'm so stressed over entrance exams and scared I won't make it..) and I'll write all kinds of characters (male or female or trans, even) properly!

@thesparkwithin ikr like for my fmcs I don't have to think much, their personality and traits just keep adding onto themselves. On the other hand, for mmcs I have to think so much. Which also makes me think how so many male characters on booktok/wattpad communities have been stripped down to such mary sue kinda characters. They are flawless, can do no wrong, and don't even behave like human beings. They are stripped of their personality and human traits just to be a likeable love interest.

As if the new Wattpad 'update' page about knowing everyone's reading lists wasn't enough. Now you can also see who is voting for what chapter or book. Tbh, it seems very unnecessary to me.

Hi! Wattpad keeps deleting this for some reason T_T
So, I needed some help from my dear writer friends, help me if you can :)
I wanted to ask, do you guys outline the book before writing it?
Last year, I was working on a book, and I outlined all 30 chapters, but never really got to writing it. This pattern repeated later that year. And I kind of realized that I get too close to my story and then idk what happens, but I just can't?
I don't lose interest, because I still look at the Pinterest boards and am like, 'omg, when do I get to write these?'
But idk its very hard to explain. So I started spontaneously, just writing and seeing where the story takes me. But then, I don't have a proper direction. It's like I am blindly running a marathon and have ended up in the jungle, even though I started at the beach.
And I feel like I do need to outline because most of my work-in-progress has some of the other kind of surprise element in it, so I don't want to create loopholes in my own story. And like yeah, idk what to do.
Now, the story that I am currently working on, I had kind of outlined only the next 2-3 chapters a few months ago, and normally, I have the inspiration to write it, but as soon as I see those outline pages, I don't feel like writing. I don't know what this weird, contradictory thing is.
I feel like it might be because I now have a clear plan, and it's just like leaves no place for experimenting? idk
Also, what would be your advice for writing blogs and stuff? It's nothing serious (I haven't decided it yet), just for fun.
I love talking about manyyyy different things, but am scared that I might offend someone, and I don't want this to become something to shoo people away from my stories. ykwim?

I don't know how many times I've watched this movie.. complete package, i literally remember each and every dialogue of it, from virus' life is a race to chatur's a for apple b for baal XD. Hello, I am back after a long hiatus. But for some reason, I cannot bring myself to write anything. So I have been reading my books, and have taken down chapter from 'one fine tuesday'. i have realized it needs some editing, and so yeah. I hope I resolve this conflict with myself, and get back to writing as soon as possible :)
