Heya all! I know it's been a while since my last update, (sorry about that), but from here on out you can expect a new chapter once a week!

          Let's have a little poll.

What day of the week would you enjoy your next update?

As I work weekends, how about we choose between Monday thru Thursday.

I had to call my mom to brag about how well my writers meeting went tonight Lol

I read the latest chapter from my ongoing novel to open it up for critique as usual. However this time I was a bit more nervous because in the group was a lady named Rosemary. She's an editor and has 7 or 8 published works already and I've been hoping to be in the same group as her since I met her. I was expecting her to have some harsh but honest criticisms to help me improve my writing. Expected the same from the other 5 people in my session today.

I was NOT, however, expecting every one to give me praise and tell me how much they enjoyed my read. Especially not from Rosemary who had nothing but positive things to say about it. Don't get me wrong, shes an awesome little ball of joy but I know that writing is her passion so when she told me, "I'm already invested in your story now. I'm really looking forward to hearing more!" man i was cheesing hella hard lol

And that wasn't even the best part. Before I left another lady who was in my group walked up to me, asked what my name was again, and handed me her business card. She revealed that shes published 2 novels already and is really intrigued by my writing.

So glad I went to my writers meeting tonight because it completely solidified that feeling of, "I think this is what I was meant to do"!

          Okay. Bragging over. thanks lol

Unpopular opinion (possibly):

I feel as though as a community of writers it is our obligation to one another to give honest feedback on each others stories. It's great to stroke someones sho from time to time or give them the encouragement to keep moving forward but we shouldn't let that hinder their chances of a story going from decent to great.

Someones reviewers give harsh criticism and it hurts to read, but when you look at it objectively there is normally a few great takeaways for improvement.

Theres a series of books written by the Author Krestley Cole and in them she has a character that sums up what I'm trying to say. "Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind."

We shouldn't always just write, "awesome story!" or "I like where this is going!" We should be more detailed than that. What do you like about the story? What do you dislike? What are you on the fence about? Not every author on here has friends that will tell them what they truly think. Be that friend! (without tearing them to shreds of course) But honest feedback means a real possibility of improvements.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. what do you believe?

@Montreece_Ellington I totally agree with you. I also love honest feedback on my stories, in a way that I can understand. Your feedback really helped me. Thanks a lot ☺️

@Montreece_Ellington hello. I saw your 'honest' feedback on a book that I'm currently critiquing and I just had to click on your page. (we somehow share the same views on it comes to giving back honest feedback) unfortunately, most writers just want the good stuff, and when you give them 'honest' feedback, they take you to be a killjoy.

            Happy writing.
