Me: *looks up a Japanese name for my OC for a MHA fic*
Me: *realizes kanji are important for the meaning of the name* (the name can sound the same but have different meanings with the different kanji used)
Me: *for some fucking reason decides to put said OC into class 1-A that Midoriya teaches*
Me: *NOW HAS TO CREATE 19 DIFFERENT QUIRKS, AND FIND FITTING FIRST AND LAST NAMES FOR THEM, A N D WRITE DOWN THE KANJI THAT WAS USED FOR SAID NAMES*
I managed to get the quirks and all 19 first names done and 3 or 4 last names- I didn't think it was going to be this hard why is Japanese so complicated- why did I do this to myself-

Lmao sounds like a pain but I respect it, I totally understand getting carried away making characters (something about making one character and then tripping and falling and ending up with like a million fully fleshed out characters for no reason lmao been there bestie) so good luck and don’t get burned out! It’s pretty inspiring to hear all the effort you’re putting in too, Japanese really is a struggle. I’ve found that using behindthename.com is best for that though, because you can narrow down the searches pretty specifically and in the name meanings it generally includes the kanji used and what they mean and alternatives that you can use! So maybe that can help? Idk, keep up the good work lol <3

I wasnt invited to my sister's wedding but I'm kinda glad I didn't go cause I just found out they tried to do a fairytale theme by mashing medieval aesthetic and "Viking" aesthetic together and as a Norse pagan my eye is twitching
