I know Sword Art Online gets a lot of shit for being fan service-y, but honestly the fan service isn't /that/ bad and the story is actually really good
Like the way some people talk about the fan service in the animal, you'd think the clothes would be exploding off the girls but it's like... Oh no, they showed a girls butt in leggings... A few girls undress but they have moderately conservative undergarments (compared to most anime)
And the plot and story is so good!! Like Kirito's and Asuna's romance and kid, the plot twists, the concept! Highly recommend if you're interested in anime

I completely agree with this. I avoided SAO for a long time because of all the hate it got, but it's my husband's favorite (and first) anime and he really wanted us to watch it. And it was actually really good! I never understood the backlash it got. I loved it so much. I'm glad I waited to watch it with him, but also, I should have watched it way sooner LMAO I gotta learn that the anime community is weird and most of the shows they think are terrible aren't actually all that bad.
