I remember when all of this was fields... 

Writing is one of my favourite things to do, and therefore I never travel anywhere without a notebook and pen - resorting to memos on my phone or iPod if I have to!  I love reading too - I will read absolutely anything.  Lately, I've really gotten into Flann O'Brien (Irish writer, screamingly funny, do not read it in a public place - I read one of his books in a queue at the airport and I've never been glared at so much!), Evelyn Waugh and Irene Nemirovsky.
  If you're wondering about my username, then it's roughly what my real name sounds like.  In reality, my name is Irish and really hard to say, but when people - especially English people - try to say it, it comes out like 'Moorhen', which is a bird!  It's the nickname my friends give me.
My favourite things to do, other than reading and writing, involve listening to bands you've never heard of (bitchy hipster moment there - nah, I just like I lot of folk and weird indie music), travelling, and studying! No joke,  I study languages, which means that I can watch a foreign film or read Harry Potter in French and call it "studying".  It's fun. :)
